Scalecolors na štětec

Než se dám do malování již zmíněné busty, řekl jsem si, že vyzkouším nejprve barvy Scalecolors (SC) jen na plastové destičce a jen s použitím štětce. Použil jsem malou plastovou destičku, na kterou jsem natřel tenkou vrstvu bílé akrylové barvy Vallejo z řady Model Air. Tmavší bílý odstín je pak jen bílý základ Skull White (sprej Citadel). 

Before I start painting the bust mentioned in previous article, I decided to make a simple test - I just used  small brush (no.1) and some small plastic sheet which I painted before with White color (Vallejo Air). Darker white colour is just white primer Citadel (Skull White).

Abyste viděli, jak se chovají nové barvy v porovnání s již zavedenými, použil jsem červenou barvu ze setu Red Paint Set (Andrea).

To be able to easily compare how the new Scalecolours behave I used red color from Andrea's Red Paint Set. These colors are the best for me and are clearly matt when they are completely dry.

Nejprve jsem barvu Scalecolor (konkrétně se jednalo o tmavě modrou barvu Caspian Blue) naředil ředidlem X-20 určeným pro emailové barvy Tamiya. Ani jsem neočekával, že bude fungovat. Přesto jsem byl překvapen tím, že se barva nijak nezměnila. Přesto však nejde toto ředidlo použít. Stejně se pak chová White Spirit. 

First I used X-20 thinner for  Tamiya Enamel Paints. I didn't expect it would work but I was surprised when I saw the colour stayed the same - the thinner didn't destroy it. But as you can see this thinner really isn't suitable for acrylic paints. The same we can say about White Spirit.

Výrobce na krabičce slibuje, že barvy Scalecolor jsou vhodné pro malování štětcem i pro airbrush. Airbrush vyzkouším později, ale jak vidíte, tak barvy Scalecolor jdou ředit vodou stejně dobře jako barvy Andrea. 

On every box there is written that the Scalecolours are '...valid for brush and airbrush...'. I'll try airbrush later but as you can see the Scalecolours diluted with water are as good as Andrea's. It's too soon to declare it but I think SC may be even a little bit better. 

Nakonec jsem pro rozředění kapky barvy SC použil ředidlo X-20A firmy Tamiya. Výsledek je také velmi dobrý, ale při velkém zvětšení mi přijde, že přeci jen jsou v zaschlé barvě vidět malinké šupinky barvy. Může však jít jen o můj dojem. Rozhodně to však podrobím detailnějšímu testu. Nejlepší je bez pochyby originální ředidlo od Scale75, ale pokud ho nemáte (stejně jako ho nemám já), nic se neděje, protože je více možností, jak barvy Scalecolor naředit.

Finally I used Tamiya's X-20A thinner for Tamiya's acrylic paints. The result is very good, too. But when I look at the dry colour with higher extension and it seemed to me there are some very small chips. Well, I'm not absolutely sure with it. I'll test it more and let you know the conclusion. The truth is that the best is thinner by Scale75 but if you don't have it (I don't have it, too) it's good to know there are more options how to thin the SC colour.

Napsal jsem tento článek jak česky, tak i anglicky. Důvod je ten, že na barvy Scalecolours ještě neexistuje tolik recenzí, jak by si zasloužily. Jsou totiž opravdu velmi dobré a určitě si zaslouží pozornost každého z vás. A protože vím, že tento blog nečtou jen Češi, použil jsem i angličtinu. A to přesto, že překladač v rámci možností funguje.

This article is written as in Czech so in English. The reason is simple: the colors are still quite new and there are still not so many reviews as there should be. But these colours are really very good. For me one of the best I have ever used. That's why I wrote it in English though the option 'Translate' on the upper left side of the blog works quite well. I hope you find it useful.
